Hailed as “someone to watch” for possessing “wonderful technique as well as keen musical sensibilities” by ClevelandClassical.com, guitarist Krystin O’Mara performs and records throughout the United States and most recently on an exhibition concert series at the Cleveland International Guitar Festival, the New Music Festival at Bowling Green State University, the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society Local Artists and Rising Stars Series, and the Princeton Sound Kitchen at Princeton University. She premiered a work written for her by award-winning composer Viet Cuong entitled, “OBSESSION.” Her similarly titled debut solo CD was released in 2013 to critical acclaim.
As a chamber musician, Krystin collaborates with saxophonist Ethan Miller as a member of Duende. Duende performed on the Kent State University concert series and Baldwin-Wallace Summer Garden Series and released their first CD in April 2014 on Centaur Records.
Trained at the Cleveland institute of Music and Peabody Conservatory, She is a dedicated teacher with eight years of experience and enjoys sharing her love of music with her students by providing a welcoming, enriching, artistic environment tailoring lessons to each student’s interests.
