			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong> Guitar Decatur Jam Camp (GDJC) Summer Session</strong> is designed for beginner and intermediate guitar and bass players between the ages of 10-16 who want to immerse themselves in Rock, Blues, Jazz and Songwriting. The camp will cover specific topics within each genre, apply advanced techniques to repertoire, and work with the student to master their instrument. Camp clinics will focus on musicianship skills &#8211; including theory, improvisation, ear training, playing with a rhythm section as well as home recording. Guest artists will lead clinics throughout the week and students will enjoy one-on-one session time with camp instructors. Camp students will also have many opportunities to perform during the week.</p>
<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Camp Hours and Information</span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Summer Session June 17 &#8211; 21</strong></p>
<p><strong>Camp hours:</strong> Monday – Friday (9am to 4pm)</p>
<p><strong>Tuition: $300 &#8211; includes: five full days of camp, GDJC gig bag </strong>(t-shirt, strings, picks, guitar strap, field trip to a professional recording studio and a professional photo shoot)</p>

<p>We are looking for raw talent &#8211; no gigging experience necessary. &#8211; just a passion to play. All band members must be 18 or UNDER. All genres will be considered. Bands will play for charity, donating time and talent to SkaterAid and the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children.</p>
<p>SkaterAid Auditions: Info and Requirements:<br />
<strong>1.</strong> Your audition is considered a commitment to appear. You must be able to perform at the SkaterAid event on Sunday, September 29 in Decatur, Georgia between 2-7pm.<br />
<strong>2.</strong> SkaterAid is a teen event. Band members must be 18 years old or younger. All band members are expected to secure parental agreement and support for their appearance at SkaterAid.<br />
<strong>3.</strong> Full sound support will be provided at the event.<br />
4. SkaterAid bands will be featured in publicity including local newspapers, magazines, posters, flyers and t-shirts sold at the event. Bands will be provided with a limited amount of publicity material to distribute to their fan base.</p>
<p>How To Enter:<br />
<strong>1.</strong> Deadline for submissions: July 8, 2013<br />
<strong>2.</strong> Submit an MP3 of your work by the deadline to <a href="mailto:guitardecatur@gmail.com" target="_blank">guitardecatur@gmail.com</a>. Please put SKATERAID AUDITION in the subject line.</p>

Judging Process<br />
<strong>1.</strong> Bands will be chosen by an impartial selection committee through a blind listening process – no names or information about band members will be presented to the panel.<br />
<strong>2.</strong> All bands will be notified of their status by July 29. If your band is selected you will be required to sign an agreement committing to perform at the event. Alternate bands will be selected in the event that primary bands are unable to appear due to an emergency. Alternate bands must also sign an agreement.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ukes for Yutes is a fun and creative event hosted by Guitar Decatur at the Oakhurst Music and Arts Festival on October 13th. Our booth at the festival provides all the necessary materials (ukuleles, paint, glue, glitter, etc.) to ensure that the children participating have a fun and creative experience with their ukuleles’.</p>
<p>You may make a donation of $35 towards our event will sponsor two children, including one ukulele per child that they will decorate and take home to enjoy. Ukes for Yutes is a non-profit event, so you will receive a donation receipt on request.</p>
<p>Thank you for your support of music education for our children. The deadline for sponsoring a child for this event is September 30th, 2012. Every dollar collected will go towards making Ukes for Yutes a success.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Acoustic &amp; Electric Guitar:  classical, rock, blues and songwriting</strong></p>
<p>Eddie’s dedication to music and guitar has earned him a spot as a highly sought after guitarist and teacher in the Atlanta area. He has played guitar for over 30 years and has over 15 years’ experience teaching and performing. He holds a Bachelor of Music in classical guitar from Kennesaw State University where he studied with Mary Akerman and a Master of Music in classical guitar from the University of Texas at Austin where he was under the tutelage of Adam Holzman. He has performed for many of the guitar world’s finest musicians, including Roland Dyens, David Russell, Douglas Neidt, Ricardo Iznaola, Ricardo Cobo, Nigel North and Micheal Troster among others.</p>
<p>After returning to Atlanta from Austin, Eddie taught guitar at Reinhardt College, Georgia Perimeter College, as well as Emory University where his guitar courses for the extended learning center were in high demand.  Although Eddie’s primary interests are in classical guitar and songwriting, he also plays and plays rock guitar, flamenco and blues guitar.</p>
<p>In 2009 he opened Guitar Decatur and currently lives in Decatur with his dogs Wolfie and Marley.</p>

<p>Francisca Vanherle was born in Argentina but grew up in Belgium. <p>In 1997, she was granted a Fulbright Scholarship by the Commission for Educational Exchange between the USA and Belgium and Luxembourg.  With this scholarship, she continued her education at the University of Texas at Austin.</p>
<p>Besides opera and operette, Francisca regularly sings as an oratorio soloist and in art song recitals with piano, a genre which is particularly close to her heart.</p>
<p>Francisca has a home base in Brussels, Belgium and in Atlanta, Georgia</p>

<p>Derek McCoy has been playing guitar for 20 years, after falling in love with the instrument at the age of 11. He moved to Atlanta from North Carolina in 1999 to study at the Atlanta Institute of Music. Since graduating he has become an accomplished jazz guitarist and shared the stage with some of the best musicians Atlanta has to offer along with leading his own jazz trio. <p>Lauren began playing her dad&#8217;s old nylon string guitar at age 11. While in college, she decided on a career in music and studied classical guitar at James Madison University where she received her Bachelors in Guitar Performance. Lauren continued her studies at the University of Texas at Austin with Adam Holzman and there, earned a Master of Music. She has completed three years of course work in the Doctor of Musical Arts program at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston where she worked with renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk.<br />
In addition to her many years as a performer, Lauren has over 15 years of teaching experience and excels at playing and teaching rock, folk and classical music. Lauren lives in Atlanta with her fiancé David and their pup Winnie.</p>
